FrostBite (The Hunter Chronicles Book 1) Page 29

The smell of sex and their combined scent was heavy in the air. It stirred an ember of desire. Jasmine felt her body tighten with an eager, primal need.

Eyelashes fluttering up, she met the vampire’s tender look. “Eric.”

The length of his body was tucked into her side. She could already feel his cock hardening against her thigh.

“I have not yet finished with you, kitten.” A seductive smile curved his lips. “I promised you the whole night, did I not? And we are merely getting started.”

  Chapter 29

Eric watched the girl as she slept an exhausted sated sleep. She was more than he had ever dreamed. The lust that had been burning inside him for her had not been extinguished. It had only grown hotter. Why this was, he could not explain.

The fact that his powers had slipped from his control while he had been taking her also excited him. That had never happened before.

His bite mark was apparent on her neck. Eric felt a surge of savage pleasure when he saw it. It had been almost a primal need to mark her as his. The thought of the other mark on her left inner thigh beneath the thick duvet excited him even more.

One night, he now knew, would never be enough. His body was again hardened and ready to take her. He wanted to sink his cock into the welcoming heat of her tight little cunt again.

He had already fucked her in so many positions, he had no doubt she would awaken sore. Eric knew there were, though, so many more and pleasurable ones yet to try.

He wanted to possess Jasmine with a strange feral urge he had never encountered before. Not even once with the many women he had bedded throughout his long existence.

Eric knew he could not linger, however. Much still was left to do now that Marcel had been taken out of the picture. He and his team had loose ends to tie up.

But when all was neatly wrapped up to a satisfying conclusion, he would seek the girl out. A smile curved his mouth. For now he would leave her with memories of this night.

Jasmine awoke with a sly smile of contentment on her face. Her body was still heavy with fulfilment. A pleasurable ache tugged deep inside. Eric had fucked her thoroughly so many times she had lost count. He had been insatiable—as if he hadn’t been able to get enough of her.

They had never even made it to the bed. He had given her so many mind-blowing orgasms, her voice became hoarse from her screams and cries.

The only time she had laid down was out of pure exhaustion. Even then, the vampire had crawled under the blankets with her. His big, muscled chest pressed to her back as he spooned her. It had been strangely comforting.

She had fallen asleep to the gentle caress of his hands over her skin. He had wiped the last of her fear from her mind. She knew she would not let the past haunt her any more. Thanks to him she felt lighter, suddenly freer.

Jasmine rolled over and discovered she was alone. The other side of the bed had long been empty judging from the coolness of the sheets.

She was not surprised. Eric had told it would be one night of passion.

A heaviness settled in her chest. A lump formed in her throat as she felt the sting of tears behind her eyes. She had thought as least he would have said good-bye. Even maybe shared breakfast with her.

But then he had shared so little of himself. She barely knew anything about him at all. He was a cold, handsome ghost. For all she knew, Eric wasn’t his real name.

A long sigh left her lips. Like it or not, he had taken a little piece of her heart.

Just then, her eyes focused on the beautiful red rose that was laying against his pillow. Reaching out she brushed one of the soft petals. A note sat beside it.

Forgive me for leaving you Jasmine, but I have business to attend to. Last night you were more than any fantasy I could have imagined.

  Until we meet again,

  Eric

Jasmine traced the boldly handwritten words with her fingertip. A watery smile curved her lips. A gentleman until the last minute.

Just with a glance, she knew all his clothes were gone. The trunk with all the medieval weapons had vanished. Several open suitcases stood awaiting her.

Eric, it seemed, had been considerate enough to leave her something in which to carry the clothes he had bought her.

The place was so quiet. She knew both vampires had disappeared. There hadn’t even been a chance to say good-bye to Raoul.

Eric had mentioned sorting out loose ends. Did they mean to go after the doctor who had evaded them? Would they pick apart Marcel’s empire now that he was gone?

She hoped there was a way Claude aka Kevin could be found. Maybe Eric would let her team know if he did. Twitch was finally safe. Marcel and Pierre were dead.

It was time to go home.
